Cisco collaboration device instructions

Supported devices 


Any Cisco endpoint that is web engine capable and updated to RoomOS 11. Including.... 


  • Webex Board – any generation 

  • Desk  

  • Desk Pro 

  • Desk mini 

  • Room Bar – connected to a touch screen

  • Room Kit mini – connected to a touch screen (in signage mode only) 

 

Additional note: If you have older generation devices such as the Room Kit, MX700, MX800, or SX80 you want to work with Video Window, contact cs@videowindow.com on how to make these work with a connected PC 

 

Setup Video Window on a Cisco device 
 

Login to Webex control hub admin portal 

 

Select the device 


  • Select devices on the left menu 

  • Select the device from the devices list 

 

Enable Web Engine 


  • Click on all configurations in the top right 

  • Scroll to Web Engine 

  • Mode - change to on 

  • Click next 

  • Click apply 

 

Allow automatic mic/camera access 


  • At the top right click Actions > Run xCommand 

  • WebEngine > MediaAccess > Add 

  • Check device microphone and camera 

  • Add the string without https of web.videowindow.com 

  • Then execute 

 

(Repeat for dev-web.videowindow.com if you are a beta tester) 

 
 

Disable speaker tracking (as in a common area) 
 

  • Click on all configurations in the top right 

  • Scroll to Cameras - Speaker Track section 

  • Closeup - change to off 

  • Default behavior - change to manual 

  • Mode - change to off 

  • Click next 

  • Click apply 

 
 

 

Use in Kiosk mode - recommended 


Disable Standby control 


  • Click on all configurations in the top right 

  • Scroll to Standby section 

  • Select Control 

  • Change value to Off 

  • Click next 

  • Click apply 

 
Enable Kiosk mode 

  • Click on all configurations in the top right 

  • Scroll to User Interface section 

  • Select Kiosk 

  • Change mode to On 

  • Add the URL web.videowindow.com (or dev-web.videowindow.com if a beta tester) 

  • Click next 

  • Click apply

 
 

You are now ready to use this Cisco device as a Video Window 

 
 

Use in Signage mode – alternative option 

 
 

  • Click on all configurations in the top right 

  • Scroll to Standby 

  • Open Delay 

  • Change delay to 1 

  • Open Signage 

  • Audio - change to on 

  • Interaction mode - change to Interactive 

  • Mode - change to on 

  • Refresh Interval - change to empty 

  • URL - add the URL web.videowindow.com (or dev-web.videowindow.com if a beta tester) 

 
 

You are now ready to use this Cisco device as a Video Window 

 
 
 

Use as just a web app - not recommended 

 
 

  • Click on all Web apps in the top right 

  • Click add 

  • Name - Video Window 

  • URL - add the URL web.videowindow.com 

  • Click Add


(Repeat for dev-web.videowindow.com if you are a beta tester) 

 
 

You are now ready to use this Cisco device as a Video Window 

 
 
 
 

If you need to clear cache 

 
 

  • At the top right click Actions > Run xCommand 

  • WebEngine > DeleteStorage  

  • All
